BiPAP is a machine used to treat sleep apnea and Poor breathing. It is commonly known as “BiPap” or “BPap.”

It’s a machine that helps you breathe. It’s a form of noninvasive ventilation that providers might use if you can breathe on your own but aren’t getting enough oxygen or can’t get rid of carbon dioxide.

What is BiPAP used for?
If you have trouble breathing or sleep apnea, the machine can help push air into your lungs. You wear a mask or nasal plugs that are connected to the ventilator. The machine supplies pressurized air into your airways. It is called “positive pressure ventilation” because the device helps open your lungs with this air pressure.

What is Sleep Apnea?

Sometimes patients cannot tolerate continuous positive airway pressure and at that time our sleep specialist suggests to use BiPAP machine for sleep apnea.
