Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy is a common treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. Normally our healthcare provider may prescribe CPAP to treat sleep-related breathing disorders including sleep apnea. CPAP also may treat preterm infants who have underdeveloped lungs. It’s a device that uses mild air pressure to keep breathing airways open while you sleep.

Does its give you oxygen?

Even though they may be mistaken for an oxygen system, APAP machines are not oxygen concentrators. Rather than dispensing pure oxygen, its simply provides pressurised air. APAP machine cannot replace an oxygen concentrator or another oxygen system, as it cannot provide oxygen therapy.
How do you fix sleep apnea?
To eliminate snoring and prevent sleep apnea, a health care professional may recommend a device called a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine. A CPAP machine delivers just enough air pressure to a mask to keep the upper airway passages open, preventing snoring and sleep apnea.
